How we change lives
Empowering girls physically, mentally, and socially through track & field programs.
Our founder, Mechelle Lewis Freeman, was recently honored at this years espnW’s Women + Sports Summit as a Toyota Everyday Hero! Mechelle’s quest for her deferred Olympic dream serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and setbacks that athletes often encounter in their journey. We hope her story resonates with many aspiring athletes and individuals striving to achieve their own ambitions.
I wanted to create this track club (North Idaho Blaze Track and Field Club) because I wanted to do something for my community. It means so much to have this grant because many athletes in need can’t afford the fee for our club.
We can use this grant in so many ways, a portion of the grant can be used to help defray the cost of the district and regional meets, helping the girls take the next step to the nationals… one airline ticket can change the life of one girl. We know that this extra boost will help us to achieve our goals of winning medals on the national stage.
